Socca and Soup for Dinner

Tonight Val made the excellent dinner pictured here:

The socca is pictured first. The recipe for it is from the Minimalist at the New York Times, and Val cooked it to perfection.  The picture does nothing to capture the flavors and smell of the rosemary in the bread.

She also made a bean soup with black and red beans, diced tomatoes, cilantro, etc., topped with grated gouda and sour cream. And she made a creamed cabbage gratin from Martha Stewart.  It was incredible.  We paired it with a little 2008 Yellow Tail Pinot Noir and had a great Sunday dinner.
